“The most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or touched, they are felt with the heart.”
Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, The Little Prince
I love what I do!
I work hard and passionately believe in bringing sincerity, honesty and integrity as well as my own perspective to every commission. What personally drives me is to create images that can re-ignite a memory with the freshness of that ‘absolute moment’. The emotional reactions are insanely rewarding. It’s addictive. It’s a way of life!
I think my inherited creativity came bundled with a battered German camera from my Milanese mum. No fairytale Leica for me! When I started working I saved for my first proper film camera, a Nikon FA and enrolled for a City & Guilds qualification in Photography at the London School of Film and Photography (now the University of London). I was just 20 and not yet planning a career in photography. Just very keen to learn the powerful art of photography. I’ve discovered that you never stop learning! I use the latest Nikon DSLR cameras and prime lenses and a Leica. I still have that first little German camera and my first Nikon.
Prior to full time Photography I was an Apprentice with Hoover, a London club DJ, worked in the music industry at Richard Branson’s Virgin Records and then fell into advertising with Mccann-Erickson Worldwide. I’ve always been a Londoner but travelled to over 50 countries and lived in Moscow and Johannesburg. I returned home in 2003 newly married to my wonderful wife Annie (a Graphic Designer). We’re settled in Dulwich, South London and together created Raspberryripple (Graphic Design and Photography). My other passions are our two energetic boys, cats, experimenting in the kitchen, loud music, travel and cycling.
