Hampton Court Palace Wedding – Suzy and Olly

As a Hampton Court Palace Wedding Photographer I’m always reminded of King Henry VIII and the fate of his wives. Fortunately times have moved on and the brides that tie the knot at a Hampton Court Palace Wedding always leave with a huge smile and look forward to many years of happiness ahead. Hampton Court Palace is an incredible wedding venue. It’s a perfect setting both historically and aesthetically. Situated alongside the Thames it’s one of only two surviving palaces built for Henry VIII. The Palace itself is a fantastic example of Tudor architecture. Just look at those amazing chimneys! There are 65 acres of spectacular gardens and couples are encouraged to make good use of the Privy and Pond gardens as well as the Palace grounds including the Clock and Fountain Courts and vast parkland. Historic Royal Palaces do a fantastic job maintaining the palace and keeping the grounds to ensure a perfect Hampton Court Palace Wedding.

Despite the miserable British weather this year, Suzy and Olly had plenty of sunshine for their wedding day. The ceremony was held in the Garden room. A large room with floor to ceiling windows giving it a nice airy feeling and large enough to cater for a couple of hundred guests. Suzy looked amazing in her dress as she carried her Bouquet of Lillies. She was accompanied by her father down an aisle lined with beautiful rounded Bay trees dotted with white Roses. Waiting for her at the end was a very dapper Olly in a smart grey suit and Rose buttonhole. It was a lovely ceremony with readings from their friends. After the ceremony guests were treated to plenty Champagne and canopies as Suzy and Olly took a quick stroll around the Palace grounds for some photos. After gathering family and friends for the group photo session guests were seated for the wedding breakfast and speeches.  The Bride and Groom were then led into the Garden Room by a Bagpiper. A delicious three course meal followed accompanied by speeches that were entertaining as well as moving. After cutting the cake and their first dance the celebration got into full swing with DJ’s Freight Train. Flowers were supplied by Seasons Florists of Wimbledon and catering by Ampersand.

An amazing day and made possible by the excellence of Charlotte Grey and her team whose energy and enthusiasm pulled of another perfect Hampton Court Palace wedding. Thank you.

Great coverage Lorenzo. I did an engagement shoot at the palace a few years ago but I didn’t make such good use of the venue as you have. Love the shot of the couple on the staircase and your party shots.

good use of the various backdrops, giving the coverage some real depth. Best shot for me – the couple in the wooden tunnel, very graphic.

What a marvelous venue to work at and from which to deliver stunning work. Great captures that I’m sure have bowled over Suzy & Olly!
