London Wedding Photographer – Covent Garden.
Every London Wedding Photographer loves covering weddings in Covent Garden. The fast beating cultural heart of London’s West End and Theatre Land. Such a bustling, energetic, colourful and stylish backdrop to any couples wedding day.
This wedding began with the groom meeting with the wedding party at The Angel Pub for a few pre-wedding drinks. A very atmospheric Victorian Pub with lots of original features just yards away from the church in the shadow of Centre Point. Coincidentally perfectly situated to maximise drinking time, settle any nerves and still arrive at the Church on time. Ironically the Angel Pub was once where the ‘condemned’ downed their last drink en route from Newgate Prison to the gallows at Tyburn! Not that the groom felt in any way condemned. Totally the opposite!
The wedding ceremony was held at St Giles in-the-Fields Church which was originally the site of a medieval church founded in 1101. The church has a stunning interior. You can’t help having a tingling feeling as you enter and take in the ornate ceiling, chandeliers, wood carvings and plaque memorials. You can really feel the history. Well worth a peek if you happen to be passing nearby.
After a lovely service, the reception party and wedding breakfast followed just a short walk away along St Martin’s Lane in the Private Dining Room at The Ivy. Once again for a London Wedding Photographer this was a dream couples photo walk. Lot’s of wonderful photo opportunities and so many random surprises. At this point I must thank the staff at the fabulous Tatty Devine on Monmouth Street for allowing me take a few shots from within their shop. Thank you!
The Ivy staff were as slick and professional as ever. I’ve worked there several times and it’s got to be the perfect venue in London for an intimate and chic celebration. It’s a really special room. Lots of wood, colourful stained glass, fantastic art and amazing art deco lighting. And of course their food speaks for itself! Must not forget the lovely and very talented Esther Williams on piano with her Jazz Trio. Just brilliant!
Finally lots of love to an amazing couple and best wishes for a wonderful life together full of laughs.
