Renaissance Hotel Wedding
This Renaissance Hotel wedding was host to a wonderful contemporary Finnish Wedding ceremony. The 5 Star Renaissance Hotel is in an iconic building next to St Pancras Station and home of London’s Eurostar service.
As a London Wedding Photographer, to cover a wedding here was a dream come true. I’ve always wanted to see behind the fairytale facade of this stunning building. Originally it was a 300 bed hotel designed by George Gilbert Scott. Now refurbished to a very luxurious standard at a cost of around £10 million. The couple actually came over from Amsterdam, Holland, where they both met and currently live and work there. The groom was originally from London and the bride from Finland. A proper international wedding and just perfect for a Renaissance Hotel Wedding. I suspect also that the groom was a bit of a trainspotter! This meant getting permission in advance from Network Rail to allow photography on the station platform and concourse.
Renaissance Hotel Wedding continued.
This hotel is extremely attractive everywhere you look. Just like the bride as you can see from the photo above! There’s a lovely sweeping grand double staircase which its famous for. The lighting is warm and atmospheric and the staff work really hard to make everyone happy.
The service itself was conducted by a Finnish priest and supported by a choir singing Finnish hymns. Really unique and rather beautiful. After the ceremony the wedding breakfast was presented in the Ladies Smoking Room. During the champagne and canapés gap I took the couple out in front of the hotel for a few photo’s. Then we headed through the Booking Hall bar onto the concourse for a few photos with the amazing railway structure in the background. A big thank you to all the staff and a big vote of thanks for the support from Network Rail.
